Your first ASP Script

In this tutorial we will create a simple ASP script to convert from one currency to another, and use this example to explain some of the basic methods of programming ASP.
About Forms

Usually our ASP scripts will need some kind of input from the user to do their job. Most often the input will be captured in a form. When the form is submitted, the data entered will be sent to the page we specified. So our first task is to create a form which calls our ASP script. In our example, we'll ask the user to enter the amount they want to convert and the exchange rate. Click here to open the code for the HTML form in a new window, and we'll go through the code together. The first important line is:
This tells our browser to send the results to a file called convert.asp and to send them using the GET method. When we use the GET method we can see what the browser is sending to the script because it appears in the address window - excellent for finding out what's going on. (If we wanted to be a bit more secretive, we could use the POST method instead by replacing the method string in our form code.)We then have a couple of text form fields called amount and exchangerate and the all important submit button to send the form data to our ASP script. Finally we close off our form. The relevant lines follow:
Select the complete HTML page in the other window, copy it, and save it on your server as currency_converter.html. If you've been following our web server tutorial, the correct directory is probably C:\Inetpub\wwwroot.

Now for the ASPGreat, now we can start writing our ASP script. ASP tends to look quite a lot like HTML but has embedded code to do some processing along the way. This is what makes it pretty easy to learn. Once again, we will open the source code in another window and take you through it line by line.<%@ Language=VBScript %>This tells the script interpreter that this script is written using VBScript. This is usually the default for ASP, but it's good practise to put this line in anyway. The<% and %> are script delimiters - they tell the interpreter that the code within them needs to be interpreted. Usually the code outside of the delimiters will be HTML or client side JavaScript.<%Option Explicitdim amount, rate, valueOption Explicit means that we have to dimension all of our variables before we can use them. This is a good idea because if we accidentally mis-spell something the interpreter will notice and give us a helpful error message - bugs like this are often the hardest to find, so it's good to try and avoid them if we can. Then we dimension our variables using dim - this allocates some memory for the computer to store values while our script is running.amount = Request("amount")rate = Request("exchangerate")The values we entered in our form can be accessed using Request("FormVariableName"). In these two lines, we store these values in two ASP variables so that we can use them later.value = amount * rate%>This is where we do the calculation. Like a lot of other programming languages * means multiply. We also close the script off, telling the interpreter that the next lines are HTML.

You entered <%=amount%>.
The converted amount is <%=value%>.

This is just straight HTML, but if you look carefully you'll find 2 bits of embedded ASP: <%=amount%>and <%=value%>. This is telling the interpreter to substitute the value of those variables in at those points. (The = is important here - if you leave it out, you won't get anything substituted.) And there you have it, your first ASP script. Well done! This script was pretty simple and there are lots of things you could do to improve it. As an exercise, you might want to try changing the form to convert between pounds and dollars or vice versa and change the ASP script to store the exchange rates in variables and then to decide which is the right exchange rate to use. (Hint: To do this you will need the if statement - the syntax is below.)if condition thencommand1command2...elsecommand1...end ifIf you manage this OK, you might want to add some error checking to your script. You can use the function IsNumeric() to check whether the input is valid, and use the if statement to either write out an error, or to write the result.

What is a DVD?Seaching Information about a CD Duplicator? You've come to the right place.

We have compiled this page to give our visitors and customers access to some useful information about CD Duplication and DVD Duplication. Content is based on opinion only and should not be considered legal advice.

What is CD / DVD Duplication ?CD DVD Duplication - The reproduction of optical media via "copying". Generally refers to producing discs in small quantities, as opposed to large-scale replication. Content is duplicated to existing recordable CD or DVD media.
What is a DVD?
Short for digital versatile disc or digital video disc, a type of optical disk technology similar to the CD-ROM . A DVD holds a minimum of 4.7 GB of data, enough for a full-length movie. DVDs are commonly used as a medium for digital representation of movies and other multimedia presentations that combine sound with graphics. The DVD specification supports disks with capacities of from 4.7GB to 17GB and access rates of 600KBps to 1.3 MBps . One of the best features of DVD drives is that they are backward-compatible with CD-ROMs, meaning they can play old CD-ROMs, CD-I disks, and video CDs, as well as new DVD-ROMs . Newer DVD players can also read CD-R disks.
DVD uses MPEG-2 to compress video data.
In your quest for a CD DVD duplication company to work on your project, you have no doubt been asked many questions concerning your project and the type of disc you need. "Aren't all discs the same?", you may wonder to yourself but as you have come to find out, there IS a difference between the disc used to manufacture duplicated orders and the discs used to manufacture replicated orders. We have put this page together in an effort to explain some of the differences, answer some of the questions you may have, and set aside some misconceptions about both types of disc mediums.
CD / DVD Duplication

Duplication is the standard in which smaller quantities of CDs or DVDs are usually manufactured. CDR or DVDR media is loaded into burners. Your information is digitally extracted from your master source (usually a CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-R, DVD+R, or DVD+RW) and transferred to the blank discs. Your information is typically verified and the disc then accepted or rejected. With the advent, popularity, and reduced cost of media, it is now possible to offer the same level of CD and DVD duplication services to customers that need smaller quantity orders as customers which need larger quantities. Both processes extract the information from your master source in EXACTLY THE SAME WAY. Other than the way your disc is manufactured, the biggest noticeable difference between a replicated disc and a duplicated disc may be the way your disc is printed. This is usually due to the cost restraints associated with the method chosen to process the order.
True or False: CDRs and DVDRs which are duplicated are not as reliable as CDs or DVDs that are replicated? It may surprise you to find out that in most cases the answer to this question is FALSE. DVDRs were invented for the storage of data, video, audio and more, despite the current compatibility issues with recordable DVDs. Audio CD-Rs were an offspring of the data CD. As with any new technology, there were bugs and glitches to iron out when trying to mass-produce audio CD-Rs. In an effort to get product into the market place, many CD-R manufactures produced subpar product which had trouble loading audio and thus would keep your CD from "spinning up" in an audio only player. Today's CD-Rs are manufactured under much stricter guidelines. It is true that there are still many inferior brands of CDRs and DVDRs saturating the market place, but by choosing a reputable duplication company which uses only professional equipment and high quality media, you are assured of receiving a quality product.

Disc Manufacturing & ReplicationDisc Manufacturing or Replication refers to the creation of a pressed disc by using a glass master and pressing the data into the media. The substrate is poured out into a mold to form the disc. After mass replication, the discs can be offset printed or silkscreened with artwork and packaged. Original source media (CDR, DVDR or DLT tapes) can be returned. The glass master used to make the replicates can not be returned as it too fragile to travel.
Duplication & RecordablesDuplication refers to the burning of recordable media with a CD or DVD Burner or Recorder which burns the data onto an existing recordable disc. CD/DVD Burners can be desktop models or slightly larger arrays of desktop models used for creating short runs of recordables.Recordables are not considered "flight-ready" by the US government. DVDr-s do not play the same way on all DVD players as the ISO standards and programming is rapidly changing. Because DVD-Rs and DVD Players are still evolving, DVDRs are not a good choice for public release.Recordable media also tends to add to project cost as the media has to be purchased, so again, is suitable only for small runs.Recordables can be silkscreened or printed with a desktop printer such as thermal printing. They can not be offset printed due to the pressure offset printing exerts on the discs as the recordable substrate gets damaged.

Because there are so many potential sources of adversity in a CD replication project, we advise clients NOT to schedule CD release parties until AFTER they have their CDs! We understand that waiting for CDs to be completed is kind of like how a kid feels the day before his or her birthday. But we also know what a bummer it can become if a client gets a product with defects because the job was rushed to hit a ridiculous deadline.Duplication has faster turn times, since a stamper does not need to be made. The duplication process can literally start as soon as a master is received, whereas the replication process doesn't begin for about 5-7 business days, during which time both a glass master and a stamper are made.Commonly, people expect that CD, DVD, and Vinyl manufacturing jobs can be done locally, such that they can just get in their car, drive ten minutes away, and pick up the discs. This is sometimes true, but it is more the exception than the rule. In fact, customers often find that if they buy locally, they get hit with state sales tax, but save on shipping, and the inverse situation exists as well: one might not pay tax on a job done out of state, but will pay shipping.

Blackjack - The Easy WayBlackjack is one of the most popular games in casinos all over the world. It is also one of the easiest - or shell we say - one of the simplest games. All you have to do is count till 21 - in most casinos they will even do it for you. Unfortunately easy and simple in our case are two completely different things. A large number of books have been written on the subject - BLACKJACK - and I am sure that some of them are excellent, but for the average player to memorize all the rules is, to say the least, an uncomfortable task. We will try to simplify and minimize all the statistical facts and figures. Blackjack is a game where the casino has a very slim advantage, under 0.5% and in some cases - depending on the house rules- no advantage at all. That´s considered fair chance. Here are the most common rules that you should consider when you play Blackjack:
· Never buy insurance when the dealer shows an Ace, unless you have Blackjack (21), in that case you must buy insurance, if the dealer has BJ you break even, if he doesn´t you loose 50% on your insurance but win 150% on your BJ.
· Do not hit if the dealer shows a 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, unless your hand is under 11 – you have to presume that the dealer has always a 10 in the hole.
· Do not split 4´s 5´s 9´s 10´s if the dealer shows under a 7 (2-6).
· Always split Ace´s.
· Always hit if you have a 12,13,14,15,16, and the dealer shows a 7,8,9,10 and Ace.Those are the basic rules that you have to know to play a reasonable good Blackjack, have a fair chance to win and maybe have fun in the process.

Hard-Core Pointers To Successful Casino PlayingHere are some great pointers in making the money you want when frequenting the casinos. 1.) Have a good knowledge of the game that you are playing. You can study the odds and strategies that have been used to be successful. Read up! 2.) Make sure to budget yourself. Spread out the money you plan to use. If you plan to play for a few days, divide up the money proportionately. 3.) Do not drink or allow yourself to be under the influence of any narcotic. Be yourself. Know what you are doing. 4.) Use any customer service options available. Access the casino's file for customer service assistance. 5.) Remember, nothing can guarantee your winning. 6.) Study the odds involved in winning. 7.) Setup a dollar limit on you game. Know when you should stop playing. 8.) Remember that casinos are in business to make money. They know the odds and they pre-calculate the number of winners to losers. 9.) Don't pay attention to gimmicks to be successful. Rather, know the odds and play accordingly.

The salesman calmed her down and told her that her car radio was voice-activated, and that she would only need to state aloud the type of music that she wanted and the car would find it.
She got into the car and started the engine and then said the word "country," and the radio changed to a station playing a George Strait song. She was satisfied and started home. After a while she decided to try out the radio and said "rock `n` roll;" the radio station changed and a song by the Rolling Stones came from the speakers. Quite pleased, the woman continued driving.
A few blocks from her house, another driver ran a light causing her to slam on her brakes to avoid a collision.
The woman angrily exclaimed, "Asshole!" ...The radio cut over to George Bush`s press conference.

DIET CARE INFORMATION

Since diet, along with daily habits, is crucial to the health of an individual, it must be made clear at the outset that there is no standard ideal diet for all people in general. The various factors that need to be kept in mind while working out the ideal diet for each person, which will be distinctly different based on the person’s specific constitutional characteristics, are as listed below: 1. The natural qualities of each food.2. How those natural qualities can get altered.3. The effects of combining foods – proper and unacceptable combinations.4. The quantity of food intake.5. Individual differences in food intake.6. The places & climate where the food is grown, prepared and consumed.7. The effects of the seasons and time of day.8. Avoidance of artificial flavors, chemicals, preservatives and colours.
Diet Composition

One other factor that has remained a matter of great debate worldwide over the ages has been the vegetarianism vs. non-vegetarianism controversy. Initially it was common belief that non-vegetarian diet is superior in that it is full of energetic ingredients and thus provides more strength and stamina. But now it has been scientifically established that vegetarian diet is more natural and useful to human nature.Non-vegetarian diet contains cholesterol saturated fatty acids that are the root cause of diseases as coronary heart problems, cerebro-vascular accidents (strokes), eye disorders & high blood pressure. With only about 60% of its contents useful for human body, the rest 40% contains harmful toxins. In addition, such diet is usually heavy for the stomach and produces acidity, which in turn can cause problems in the gastrointestinal system.Another significantly important difference between the two is that fruits & vegetables (cereals & grains, legumes, seedy fruits, citrus fruits, carrot, cabbage, celery, green leafy vegetables, apples, melons, peaches, pears etc.) are rich in dietary fibers that reduces incidence of coronary heart diseases, cancer of intestinal tract, piles, obesity, diabetes, constipation, hiatus hernia, diverticulitis, irritable bowel syndrome, dental caries and gallstones. Also many disease causing organisms are transmitted through and thrive in animal protein – serious ailments as Encephalopathy and Mad Cow diseases are caused by Bovine Spongi. Similarly the Salmonella Typhimurium bacteria can be passed on through consumed eggs, causing diseases like pneumonia, bronchitis and typhoid.Given that the body of non-vegetarian animals contains 10 times more amount of hydrochloric acid than that of vegetarian ones, and that the human body should not be having such a high concentration of hydrochloric acid, it is reasonable to assume that the fact human body is basically meant for a vegetarian diet.
